Vanilla Coffee Syrup

My easy homemade vanilla coffee syrup made with just sugar, water, pure vanilla extract. It takes about 10 minutes and works in hot and iced coffee
Prep Time 2 minutes
Cook Time 8 minutes
Servings: 1 ½ cups
Course: Drinks
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1½ tbsp pure vanilla extract

Method

  1. First step is to add sugar and water to a saucepan over medium heat
  2. Mix until the sugar dissolves completely, don’t let it boil
  3. When it looks clear and thickened, remove from the heat
  4. Mix in the vanilla extract
  5. Let it cool, after that, pour it into a bottle or jar

Notes

  • Brown sugar version: Swap half of the white sugar for brown sugar for a toffee-like flavor.
  • Sugar-free version: Use monk fruit or allulose, dissolve it in the water, then add the vanilla off the heat
  • How much to use: Start with 1 tablespoon per cup of coffee and adjust to taste.
  • Add the vanilla off the heat so the aroma stays strong, and let the syrup cool before bottling.
